A 48-year-old Montana man has been sentenced to pay $2,500 in fines and has lost his hunting and fishing privileges for a year after falsely claiming Wyoming residency to obtain resident hunting and fishing privileges.

That sentence was handed down to Frank Pratt, 48, as part of a plea agreement recently. Game Warden Mike DeHart says the law is clear that to claim residency for Wyoming hunting and fishing licenses a person must physically reside in the state for one full year, adding a mailing address in the state does not meet the requirements of state law.
