Forgotten Business Revealed During Cheyenne Demolition [VIDEO]
It was February 26, 2018, and City News and Pipe Shop in Cheyenne was closing. It had been open since 1969. Before its current incarnation, the shop was established in 1925 as Boyd's Cigar Store. Boyd's was located around the corner on 17th street. That building is now being torn down to make room for Cheyenne's new courthouse.
Above Boyd's Cigar Shop were apartments for rent for gentlemen only, no ladies allowed. According to an ad in the Wyoming State Tribune Archives.

Established in 1925 as Boyd's Cigar Store, the store operated until 1969 when City News and Pipe Shop was formed in the much bigger Boyd Building, around the corner and up the block on 18th street.
