All Albany County Fish Creek Fire Evacuations Lifted

Albany County Emergency Management Coordinator Kate Allred on Thursday evening announced that all evacuations in conjunction with the Fish Creek Fire have been lifted.

Allred sent Townsquare Media the following statement:

"All evacuations for the Fish Creek Fire have now been lifted. All residents and campers may return to the area. Please be mindful that there are still fire resources in the area, so use caution on roadways. Firefighter and public safety is paramount.

There has been no growth on the fire today and it is now at 90% containment. 900 feet of handline was constructed today and the fire received substantial rain late this afternoon.

We would like to thank all responders and personnel for their quick response on this fire. All agencies worked seamlessly together, and we are very thankful for the current condition of the fire, as well as a smooth evacuation operation.

We would also like to express our appreciation for our local residents for their patience and cooperation in avoiding the area, which assisted in firefighter and other response personnel safety."

Sheriff's Office Says Fire Is Mostly Contained

The Albany County Sheriff's Office, in a Facebook post shortly after, said the fire is now 90 percent contained.

The fire prompted an evacuation of a two-mile radius around Fish Creek Ranch and the Cherokee Park area. That evacuation was ordered around 9 p.m. Tuesday
