The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee on Monday voted against immediate implementation of a series of fee increases related to the city's Unified Development Code.

Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen told the committee that his organization would come up with funding for additional study of the fee increases over the next 90 days. He also said that while the proposed increases themselves may not seem overly expensive, they are just one more fee for businesses operating in the city. Steenbergen also said that while some fees might be too low, others may be too high. He says the study would help answer those questions.

Both committee members who were present, Georgia Broyles and Mike Luna, voted against the immediate increase. But the issue still goes before the full city council for further consideration.
