Fatal Rollover in Converse County

A South Dakota man was killed in a rollover accident Wednesday in Converse County.

25-year-old Cody Barker was driving a tractor-trailer rig eastbound on Us Highway 18/20, near Lost Springs, when the right front tire on the tractor failed at roughly 12:25 PM.

The rig ran off the road to the right, hit a delineator post, and drove over a culvert in the ditch on the south side of the road. It rolled over onto the driver side and continued to slide through the ditch.

It then hit the right-of-way fence, and rolled over onto it’s roof. The driver was pulled from the wreck, but died at the scene.
