28-Year-Old Wyomingite Ejected, Killed in Crash on I-80
A 28-year-old Wyomingite is dead following a Monday night crash on Interstate 80, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.
The crash happened around 9:55 p.m. at milepost 48.2 near Lyman.
According to a fatality crash summary, Destany Rose was behind the wheel of an eastbound Dodge Intrepid when Rose drifted off the right-hand side of the interstate, overcorrected, and went into the median.
"The vehicle traveled down a steep embankment and rolled two times, coming to rest on its wheels," the summary reads.
The Patrol says Rose was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the rollover.
Driver Inattention and Fatigue Possibly to Blame
The summary lists driver inattention and driver fatigue/asleep as possible contributing factors.
Rose is the 98th reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year.
