Facebook Post Leads To Burglary Arrest
A Rock Springs man has been arrested on burglary charges after a woman saw her stolen dress on Facebook, according to a spokesman for the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department.
Dick Blust says that on April 10, a burglary victim reported a wedding dress valued at $1,100 had been stolen from her home, and was posted for sale on a Facebook online garage sale in the Rock Springs area. Blust says the seller was identified as 50-year-old Leon Lynch. An undercover Detective contacted Lynch and bought the dress, as well as several other items that had reportedly been stolen in the same burglary.
Investigators then got a search warrant for Lynch's home, and deputies say they recovered stolen property worth more than $2,000, as well as some marijuana.
Lynch remains in custody in Sweetwater County on $5,000 bond. He's also wanted in Sublette County on drug and traffic charges
