Ethete Residents Sentenced
U.S. Attorney Christopher A. Crofts announced that on July 22, 2015, Will Wallowingbull, 22, and Chrissy Michelle Bigeagle, 35, of Ethete, Wyoming, were sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl for accessory after the fact to first degree murder.
Wallowingbull received 60 months imprisonment, and was ordered to pay a $500.00 fine and restitution in the amount of $6,820.00, joint and several with Bigeagle. Bigeagle also received 60 months imprisonment and was ordered to pay a $250.00 fine. Both were ordered to serve three years of supervised release upon release from custody.
Both defendants were sentenced for their role in concealing evidence of the murder of Jared Little Whiteman which took place on June 3, 2014, on the Wind River Indian Reservation. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with substantial assistance of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
Crots also announced on Friday that on July 10, 2015, Laura Renea Friday, 23, of Ethete, Wyoming, was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl for theft of funds from an Indian Gaming Establishment.
Friday received two years of supervised probation and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $13,500.00 and a $100.00 special assessment. This case involved Ms. Friday’s theft of $13,500.00 from the Shoshone Rose Casino while she was employed by the casino. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
