Despite Rain, 2018 an ‘Excellent Year’ for Cheyenne Frontier Days
Despite 10 days of rain, Cheyenne Frontier Days CEO Tom Hirsig says 2018 was an excellent year.
"We had our third largest paid attendance in Cheyenne Frontier Days history," said Hirsig. "We also set all-time records for merchandise, malt beverage and liquor sales."
According to an annual report released Thursday, 101,462 people attended the rodeos and 115,214 fans enjoyed the night shows.
"Both the Florida Georgia Line and Eric Church shows ranked among our top ten night shows of all time," said Hirsig. "Eric Church’s performance ranks our sixth night show of all time with a sellout crowd of 22,500."
Last year also marked the first year CFD has sold spirits in the Buckin' A Saloon.
"The addition of spirits was met with great support from our consumer," said Hirsig. "With the purchase of our liquor license, our plan is to serve these products in areas on Frontier Park that we can control."
Hirsig says with a little cooperation from Mother Nature, 2019 should be another excellent year.
