A 59-year-old Cheyenne man is facing felony charges after police reportedly found drugs in his home.

According to a booking sheet, on Thursday, Sept. 5, police applied for and received a search warrant for Richard John Anderson's home in the 2300 block of McCann Avenue regarding an ongoing investigation of the use and distribution of drugs at the home.

Search Leads to Meth, Marijuana

When police searched Anderson's home, they reportedly found 3.57 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1.84 grams of raw marijuana, numerous glass pipes containing suspected drug residue, two digital scales with residue, and other drug paraphernalia in his bedrooms.

Investigators also reportedly found a 20-gauge Western Field shotgun in a bedroom Anderson used to store his personal belongings, and six boxes of 20-gauge rounds.

The police department's Community Action Team (CAT) contacted Anderson as he exited his home and he was placed into custody.

When detectives searched Anderson, he reportedly had 5.95 grams of suspected methamphetamine on him.

Anderson was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and formally charged with felony intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine, felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Bond Set at $10K Cash

Anderson made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, Sept. 6, during which his bond was set at $10,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 13 at 10 a.m.

If convicted on all three counts, he could face up to 28 years in prison, up to $41,000 in fines, or both.
