Cheyenne Woman Accused of Bringing Meth Into Jail in Her Vagina
A 27-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing felony charges after a jailer reportedly found a felony amount of methamphetamine hidden inside her vagina.
Physical Disturbance Leads to Warrant Arrest
According to a booking sheet, police were called to a physical disturbance at the Quality Inn at 2245 Etchepare Dr. at 12:02 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.
Police say the front desk clerk told them that two Black males from room 110 were outside fighting, but had fled the scene.
Police say the clerk added that the guests in room 110 had been yelling, fighting, and possibly doing drugs and drinking the entire night, and that there were still people inside the room whom his boss wished to be removed from the premises.
Officers then made contact with two people in the room, including Montegua Symphony Renee Presbury.
Police say Presbury had two warrants out of Municipal Court for failure to appear, one on original charges of shoplifting over $300 and false reporting, and the other on an original charge of shoplifting under $100.
They say Judge David Singleton signed both warrants.
Presbury was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and while being booked on her warrants, reportedly made statements to medical staff, which led deputies to believe she was suicidal.
Strip Search Leads to Meth, Felony Charges
As a result, Presbury was placed under suicide watch and strip-searched inside a cell, during which a plastic bag containing 3.51 grams of suspected methamphetamine was reportedly found hidden inside her vagina.
Presbury was subsequently charged with taking a controlled substance into jail and felony possession of methamphetamine.
Bond Set at $2K Cash
Presbury made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Wednesday, Nov. 13, during which her bond was set at $2,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22 at 9:45 a.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
