Cheyenne Woman With History of Drug Crimes Hit With Felony Charge
A 27-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing a felony charge after reportedly, once again, being caught with drugs.
According to a booking sheet, police contacted Stacey Claire Scrak in the parking lot of the Albertsons at 5800 Yellowstone Rd. at 12:42 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Police say Scrak was known to have an active arrest warrant out of Cheyenne Municipal Court for failure to appear.
Police say Scrak was found to have less than three grams of suspected fentanyl pills.
Search Warrant
A search warrant was later conducted at Scrak's home in the 200 block of East Carlson Street, and several plastic jewelry bags with suspected methamphetamine residue were reportedly found in her bedroom.
Police say a review of Scrak's criminal history showed she was convicted of three previous misdemeanor drug possession charges.
Scrak was ultimately taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where she was turned over to deputies without incident, and subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both.
She was also charged with two misdemeanors, including possession of a controlled substance in pill or capsule form and possession of a controlled substance in plant form.
Bond Set at $5K Cash
Scrak made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Sept. 24, during which her bond was set at $5,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
