Cheyenne Woman With Multiple Warrants Found Hiding in Basement
A 29-year-old Cheyenne woman who was being sought on four felony warrants is now behind bars.
According to a booking sheet, detectives with the Cheyenne Police Department and deputies with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office were in the area of 711 E. Allison Road at about 10:06 a.m. on July 3, 2024, when they learned that Shanowa Ashley Callender was in the home.
Callender was known to have outstanding warrants and be involved in numerous shopliftings within the Cheyenne area.
Cheyenne Woman Arrested on 4 Felony Warrants
Detectives and deputies were given consent to enter the home and informed that Callender was hiding in the basement, and she was subsequently contacted and arrested.
Police say Callender had three felony warrants out of Laramie County, one for parole violation that was signed on Nov. 2, 2023, one for escape from the Cheyenne Transitional Center that Circuit Court Judge Thomas Lee signed on Nov. 3, 2023, and one for felony theft that Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Williams signed on June 21, 2024.
Callender also had a felony warrant out of Natrona County for possession of a controlled substance signed on March 11, 2024.
Callender was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on her warrants and served a shoplifting summons.
UPDATE:
Callender was seen on her two Circuit Court warrants Friday afternoon.
Bond in each case was set at $5,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 12, 2024, at 9:45 a.m.
