Cheyenne Man Accused of Intentionally Rear-Ending Motorcyclist
A 23-year-old Cheyenne man is facing felony charges after allegedly intentionally rear-ending a motorcyclist, knocking them off their bike, then fleeing the scene.
Police Called to Hit-and-Run
According to a booking sheet, police were called to a hit-and-run at the intersection of Interstate 180 and Interstate 80 at 4:36 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1.
Police say a silver Subaru with front-end damage rear-ended a motorcycle, knocking the rider off.
A witness reportedly told police that the driver, later identified as Taigen John Freeman, intentionally struck the motorcycle, then fled the scene, finally parking at the corner of East 15th Street and Big Horn Avenue, where they saw him exit the Subaru and enter a home.
Police contacted Freeman at the home. They say he admitted to driving and told them the motorcyclist "scared him."
Freeman Arrested, Charged With Aggravated Assault
Freeman was handcuffed and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center and Mirandized.
Police say Freeman said he understood his rights and didn't wish to answer any questions, then said, unprompted, "I know what I did was wrong. I was just trying to get away."
Freeman was subsequently charged with two separate counts of aggravated assault and battery, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Total Bond Set at $6K Cash
Freeman was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court on one of the charges on Thursday, April 3, and the other charge on Friday, April 4.
His total bond was set at $6,000 cash — $3,000 cash in each case — and his preliminary hearings were scheduled for Friday, April 11, at 9:45 a.m.
Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
