Two Cheyenne transients are facing at least a combined nine felony charges following a drug bust at a Cheyenne hotel.

According to booking sheets, 34-year-old Brady Joseph Ehlers and 39-year-old Ashley Nichole Haberman were arrested at the La Quinta Inn at 2410 W. Lincolnway at 11:21 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Police say Ehlers, who has two or more prior convictions for drug-related charges, and Haberman had a felony amount of Schedule II drugs and were suspected of selling them.

Ehlers Charged With 6 Felonies

The following day, Oct. 17, Ehlers was charged with six felonies, including conspiracy to manufacture, deliver, or possess with intent to manufacture or deliver, a controlled substance; two counts of manufacture, deliver, or possess with intent to manufacture or deliver, a controlled substance; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; and possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense.

Haberman Charged With 3 Felonies, 1 Misdemeanor

Haberman was also charged with felony conspiracy; felony manufacture or delivery; and felony possession; as well as misdemeanor possession.

She appeared in Laramie County Circuit Court that afternoon, during which her bond was set at $5,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m.

Ehlers was reportedly uncooperative and was finally seen in Circuit Court on Monday morning, Oct. 21, during which his bond was set at $10,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m.

Additional Charges?

According to booking sheets dated Oct. 21, police are also recommending Ehlers and Haberman each be charged with another count of felony manufacture or delivery.

They say detectives with the department's Community Action Team executed a search warrant on the two's hotel room at about 12:57 p.m. on Oct. 17 and found numerous personal items belonging to the two, including multiple pieces of mail in Ehlers' name and personal writings and pictures of Haberman along with other female personal items.

They say there were no items in the room to suggest the room was being occupied by anyone other than them.

Search Leads to Fentanyl

Detectives also reportedly found four individually packed and wrapped plastic bags of fentanyl inside a plastic vacuum-sealed bag that was taped shut inside a small cloth zipper bag that was locked shut.

They say the fentanyl weighed 18.39 grams, consistent with amounts possessed by individuals involved in the sale and distribution of fentanyl.

A fentanyl pill was also reportedly found in a shoe belonging to Haberman and another one was reportedly found under the bed.

As of late Tuesday morning, no additional charges had been filed.
