A 29-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing multiple charges after police reportedly caught her driving under the influence of methamphetamine with her 4-year-old daughter in the car.

Broken Taillight

According to a booking sheet, police stopped Storm Destiny Gilman at Thomes Avenue and West 5th Street at 7:27 p.m. on Friday, April 11, for having a broken taillight.

Police say Gilman had rapid speech, dilated pupils, and her left leg was shaking uncontrollably.

Police say Gilman's 4-year-old daughter was in the back seat without a car seat and didn't even have a seat belt on.

K-9 Sniff

Officer Sweet and his K-9 partner Dutch arrived at the scene, and the dog reportedly indicated on the rear passenger side of the vehicle.

Police say Gilman consented to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Meth in Bra

Gilman was handcuffed and searched and reportedly had a clear plastic cylindrical container with suspected methamphetamine residue inside her bra.

Gilman was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, where a legal blood draw was completed, then booked into the Laramie County Detention Center.

1 Felony, 3 Misdemeanors

Gilman was subsequently charged with endangering children - child where methamphetamine is possessed, stored, or ingested, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both.

She was also charged with three misdemeanors, including DUI - controlled substance with child passenger, possession of methamphetamine, and child safety restraint.

$5K Cash Bond

Gilman made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, April 15, during which her bond was set at $5,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Thursday, April 24, at 1:30 p.m.

Felony Warrant

Later that day, inmate Gilman was served with a warrant out of Laramie County District Court for failure to comply with an original charge of felony forgery - utter.

The warrant was signed by Judge Catherine R. Rogers on Monday, April 14.

Gilman is scheduled to appear before Rogers for a bond revocation arraignment on Monday, April 28, at 9 a.m.
