Cheyenne Man Accused of Strangling Wife Unconscious
A 24-year-old Cheyenne man is facing a felony charge after allegedly strangling his wife to the point of unconsciousness.
According to a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy, Isaac Luciano Carrera was involved in a physical domestic with his wife of seven years at their home at about 10:28 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.
The deputy says Carrera strangled his wife for five to ten seconds to the point she became unconscious.
The deputy says Carrera was unable to be found that night, but was located the following day and arrested at 6:48 p.m.
Carrera Charged With Strangulation, Domestic Battery
Carrera was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident and subsequently charged with strangulation of a household member, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and misdemeanor domestic battery.
Bond Set at $2K Cash
Carrera made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, Nov. 15, during which his bond was set at $2,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Monday, Nov. 25 at 10:30 a.m.
