Cheyenne Woman Charged After Kids Test Positive for Meth
A 28-year-old Cheyenne woman is facing felony charges after two of her kids reportedly tested positive for methamphetamine.
According to a booking sheet, Bailee Breann Martinez was arrested at her home in the 400 block of Murray Road at 9:29 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 for endangering children with drugs.
Kids, 8 and 2, Test Positive for Meth
The arresting Laramie County Sheriff's deputy says during an investigation, Martinez's 8-year-old and 2-year-old responded positive to a methamphetamine test.
The deputy says Martinez said she was unaware her kids tested positive, but said she consumed methamphetamine.
Martinez Charged With Endangering Children, Meth Possession
Martinez was taken to the Laramie County Detention Center without incident and subsequently charged with two counts of endangering children - child where methamphetamine is present, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both.
She was also charged with misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine.
Bond Set at $1K Cash
Martinez made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Tuesday, Nov. 12, during which her bond was set at $1,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 2:30 p.m.
