While speaking with Reyna, the trooper reportedly spotted drug paraphernalia in the center console.
The trooper says Reyna couldn't provide him with a driver's license, so he had Reyna sit in his patrol vehicle and enter his information into NCIC, which showed Reyna had a valid Wyoming warrant.
According to court records, the warrant was out of Laramie County Circuit Court for failure to appear in a 2021 domestic battery case.
When the trooper searched Reyna's car, he reportedly found a suspected plant-based controlled substance as well as a Canik 9mm which Reyna had told him was under the passenger seat.
Reyna was arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center, where he was booked without further incident, and subsequently charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and three misdemeanors, including revoked driver's license for DUI, felon in possession of a firearm, and vehicle registration.
Reyna was seen on his warrant and the charges on July 29, 2024, during which his total bond was set at $3,500 cash and his arraignment and preliminary hearing were scheduled for Aug. 7, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
