A 51-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing a felony DUI charge following a late-night traffic stop in southeast Cheyenne.
According to a booking sheet, Ricky Joseph Scott was arrested at 11:38 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, after police stopped him at the intersection of Logan Avenue and East Lincolnway.
Police Say Scott Blew Twice the Legal Limit
Police say Scott had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.15-0.20%, roughly two times the legal limit.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that it was Scott's fourth DUI within 10 years.
Police say Scott's first DUI was March 8, 2018, in Springfield, Missouri; his second was May 27, 2021, in Cheyenne; and his third was April 21, 2022, in Cheyenne.
Scott was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with fourth offense DUI, a felony punishable by up to a $10,000 fine, up to seven years in prison, or both.
He was also cited for driving under suspension.
Scott made his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Monday morning, during which his bond was set at $3,000 cash and his preliminary hearing and arraignment were scheduled for March 4 at 11 a.m.
