Convicted Cheyenne Felon Gets 57 Months for 2022 Shooting

A 44-year-old Cheyenne man has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison in connection with a 2022 shooting, the United States Attorney's Office announced Friday.

According to spokeswoman Lori Hogan, the shooting took place on March 16, 2022, at a residence in Cheyenne.

"The victim had been shot in the leg, had head injuries consistent with blunt force trauma, and identified (Lance) Talbot as the attacker," Hogan said in a release.

"Security camera footage showed Talbot at the residence during the time of the shooting," she added.

Hogan says officers located and arrested Talbot and obtained a search warrant for his residence where they found .40 caliber ammunition which matched a spent shell casing at the scene of the shooting.

Talbot was indicted on Sept. 20, 2022, on a single count of felon and unlawful user of a controlled substance in possession of ammunition, and later pleaded guilty to the crime.

Talbot will be subject to three years of supervised release once he is released from prison.
