A construction worker was killed Thursday evening when a semi hit her in a construction zone on Interstate 80 west of Elk Mountain.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Shelly Yoho of Rawlins was flagging traffic when a semi driven by 50-year-old Karama Leota of West Valley, Utah drifted onto the shoulder, hit a guardrail and then struck Yoho and killed her.
Leota, who was uninjured in the crash, has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, reckless driving and failing to maintain his lane of travel.
Fatigue or possible distracted driving are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash, which marks the 56th highway fatality in Wyoming this year.
