The College National Finals Rodeo has been moving along quickly with the cowboys and cowgirls trying to qualify for Saturday's championship round at the Ford Center in Casper. The top 12 in each event will make it to Saturday so Friday's performance is the last chance to punch their ticket.

In the team roping on Thursday night, Bodie Mattson of the University of Wyoming and Roan Weil of Casper College turned in a 4 and 7 to lead the 3rd go-round. That time also vaulted them to 7th in the average.

In the saddle bronc, Talon Elshere of Casper College posted a 78 on Thursday so he is sitting in 2nd in the round and 4th in the average.

On the ladies' side, Wheatland native Rayne Grant who competes for LCCC in Cheyenne is 14th in the third go of the barrel racing from 4th in the average. Sheridan native Tavy Leno who rides for Montana Western 3rd in the average and 3rd in the last go in the goat tying with Laramie's McKenna Clingman sitting 2nd in the average. She competes for Colorado Mesa.

There hasn't been much change in the team standings lately. On the men's side, Gillette College is 4th, UW 10th, and Casper College 12th. LCCC is running 8th on the women's side with UW 10th.
