The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says a second round of severe thunderstorms is possible for southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle again on Friday.

While there was also a possibility of severe storms on Thursday, possibly including hail and tornadoes, the agency said there was an even better chance of such severe storms on Friday. The agency warned of possible hail, flash flooding and a greater chance of tornadoes compared to Thursday.

The service posted the following statement on its website on Thursday:

''Severe weather threat for today continues for the eastern plains of southeast Wyoming and western Nebraska. There is an even better chance for strong to severe thunderstorms across the region Friday afternoon and evening as a potent storm system moves into the area. Thunderstorms may contain large hail, strong winds, and very heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding. A few tornadoes are also possible."
