The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service says temperatures in some parts of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle could reach 105 degrees on Saturday.

While Cheyenne is only expected to reach the low 90s, Torrington and parts of the panhandle may well top 100 degrees.

The service has issued this statement:

"Happy weekend! It's going to be HOT. Highs on Saturday 90 to 105 with increasing clouds in the afternoon. Rain will stay mostly west of I-25. Sunday will be a touch cooler with highs staying in the 90s. Sunday afternoon brings a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms across the area."
