Cheyenne Transient Hit With Charges After Punching Deputy in Face
A 33-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing felony charges after reportedly punching a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy in the face.
The incident occurred last Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the Laramie County Detention Center.
According to a booking sheet, Lacey Ann Martin assaulted a deputy in the jail by striking them in the face with a closed fist and then attempted to assault the deputy a second time.
When ordered by the deputy to comply with a legal order, Martin reportedly refused the command.
Martin was subsequently charged with two felony counts of causing or attempting to cause bodily injury to a peace officer and a single misdemeanor count of interference with a peace officer.
She made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court on Friday, Dec. 8, during which her bond was set at $5,000 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Dec. 15 at 9 a.m.
