Cheyenne Transient Accused of Stabbing Girlfriend Over Breakup
A 32-year-old Cheyenne transient could face up to 10 years in prison after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend.
Court records say police were called to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center on July 19 after a woman came in with a 3-4 inch cut on her thigh.
The woman told police that she'd been stabbed by her boyfriend of approximately one year, Aaron Bridger.
She said Bridger had become upset with her and told her he no longer wanted to be together.
Fearing he would "get violent," the woman grabbed a knife out of her car and began to gather her stuff out of Bridger's car.
The two are currently homeless and live out of their respective cars, according to an affidavit.
When the woman threatened to slash Bridger's tires if she wasn't able to collect her clothing, Bridger reportedly grabbed her hand and forced the knife into her thigh. He then pushed her out of his car.
The woman said she began limping toward a nearby house, but Bridger grabbed her and put her in a chokehold before taking off in his car.
Bridger was picked up on a warrant on Aug. 4 and charged with aggravated assault and battery-bodily injury with weapon and domestic battery-first offense.
Bridger is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $5,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 14 at 9 a.m.
