Cheyenne, let's all congratulate Michael Martinez-Montano of Cheyenne for winning Wyoming Youth of the Year for the Boys and Girls Club.

Michael has been a member of the Boys and Girls Club for nine years.  He is a 16-year-old junior at South High School, where he is an honor student, holding a 4.0 GPA and taking AP classes.  Not only does Michael kick butt in the classroom, but he kicks the soccer ball around for his high school team as well.  When Michael graduates, he wants to go to school to be a Trauma Surgeon.

In order to win Wyoming Youth of the Year, Michael had an intense process to go through at a local and state level.  He had to first submit an application, then write an essay explaining how the Boys and Girls Club helped him become the young man he is today.  Micahel also had to give a speech and be interviewed.  After completing the process it was determined that Micahel will represent Wyoming in the Regional competition and hopefully all the way to the National competition.

Michael received a full tuition and fees scholarship from the University of Wyoming so he can pursue his dream of being a Trauma Surgeon.
