Cheyenne Police Post Video in Hopes of Identifying Porch Pirate

Police are reaching out to the public for help in identifying a porch pirate who was caught on camera stealing a package from a south Cheyenne home.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says the theft happened around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Kay Avenue.

Police have released video of the incident, and are asking anyone who recognizes the porch pirate to contact Officer Brown at (307) 633-8052 or abrown@cheyennepd.org.

"It's the time of year when people are doing this kind of thing," said Malatesta. "So if (you're) expecting a package, take some of those precautions -- have it delivered to your work or put special instructions to secure it somewhere on your property."

"If you do some of those kinds of things you'll really reduce the chance of somebody stealing it," he added.
