Cheyenne Police Planning Special DUI Enforcement Effort
The Cheyenne Police Department is planning an all-out effort to catch drunk drivers over the upcoming New Year's weekend, according to a police spokesman.
Officer Kevin Malatesta says the special enforcement effort will feature the mobilization of the DUI Command Vehicle (pictured above). The command vehicle allows officers to process DUI suspects on the scene and get back out on the streets more quickly.
Malatesta says the effort will also include increased police patrols throughout the city, starting on Friday night and going through the holiday weekend. He is warning anyone who is considering drinking and driving that there is ''a very good likelihood" that they will be arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Malatesta says the New Year's weekend enforcement effort will cap off a series of special enforcement programs through the month of December.
