Cheyenne Police: Driver Mistook Gas Pedal For Brake

Cheyenne Police say they believe a driver who mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake drove into a Physical Therapy Building on Friday morning.

That's according to a post on the Cheyenne Police Department Facebook page.

According to the post, officers were called out to the North Platte Physical Therapy Facility at 7226 Commons Drive. at 8:40 on Friday morning on a report of a one-vehicle crash.

According to the post, "Upon arrival, officers found that a passenger vehicle had crashed into the front door of the building. Preliminary information indicates that the driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake, causing the vehicle to accelerate into the structure."

The post says two people in the building were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver and a passenger in the vehicle were not injured.

By Friday afternoon, the parking lot was cleared and traffic was flowing through the area, according to the post..
