Cheyenne and Laramie both experienced their hottest month of June in recorded history last month.

That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service. The agency posted the following on its website:

June was a pretty warm month across our area! In fact, Cheyenne and Laramie both set the record for the warmest average temperature in the month of June this year. The previous record for Cheyenne was from 2006, and the previous record for Laramie was in 2012. Rawlins ended up with the second warmest June on record, after 1988. Scottsbluff ended up with the 8th hottest June on record. The all time hottest June there was also in 2012. Due to the somewhat frequent intrusions of cooler/moister air from the east last month, Chadron and Alliance ended with above normal temperatures for June, but not in the top 10.
