Cheyenne Mayor Urges Extra Precautions After Rash of Dog Deaths
Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins is urging dog owners to take extra precautions to ensure their furry companions are safe following a recent rash of deaths.
Collins in his Mayor's Minute column Friday said that 14 dogs have been hit and killed by cars this past week.
"We also had a few that were on leashes in their yards that attempted to jump over fences and accidentally hung themselves," said Collins.
According to the city code, "the owner of an animal must keep the animal under restraint at all times, not permitting it to run at large except on the owner's property."
