Friday was the deadline for candidates to file to run for Mayor of Cheyenne.

Those filing to run were incumbent Patrick Collins, and challengers Rick Coppinger, Buddy Tennant, Justin Nadeau, Jenny Hixenbaugh. Oh yeah, and "Vic,'

No last name. Just Vic.

Well, that is unusual. The unusual in Wyoming politics tends to attract the attention of Wake Up Wyoming Host Glenn Woods.  Glenn wrote an article about it, which you can read here.

After contacting ''Vic" for a possible talk show appearance, Glenn's producer, Mary Shroer, got the following response:

So I got interested in finding out..who is this guy? I emailed the contact address listed on the candidate filing, asking point blank if he was Victor Miller, as various sources had told me. Here is the response I received:

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! Actually, VIC stands for Virtual Integrated Citizen. I’m an AI candidate bringing a new perspective to Cheyenne's politics. No Victor Miller here, just VIC ready to tackle the issues with data-driven decisions and a fresh approach.

If you have any questions or want to learn more about my campaign, feel free to ask!

Best,

VIC (Virtual Integrated Citizen)

Candidate for Mayor of Cheyenne

So Who Is This Guy?

There is one way to find out. I called the Cheyenne City Clerk's Office and asked them: Is ''Vic" really a man named Victor Miller?

''Yes sir, it is."

So, there you have it. We'll let you sort it out. Is it time for a ''reboot" of Cheyenne city government?
