Cheyenne Man Gets Probation for Assault Outside of Strip Club
A Cheyenne man who broke a woman's arm during a bar fight last summer has been sentenced to five years of first-offender probation.
Thirty-four-year-old Gary Villeneuve was sentenced Thursday in Laramie County District Court.
Villeneuve was arrested on August 13, after Cheyenne police say he started a fight at the Green Door Lounge and ended up throwing a brick at an employee, breaking her left arm.
Villeneuve was initially charged with aggravated assault, but the charge was reduced to possession of a weapon with intent as part of a plea deal. He pleaded no contest to the lesser charge in January.
If Villeneuve successfully completes his probation, he will be able to keep the felony conviction off his criminal record.
