A 27-year-old Cheyenne man was charged in federal court this (Monday) morning with attempted enticement of a minor after he allegedly tried to meet a 12-year-old girl for sex.

An affidavit alleges Christopher Lee Martinez responded to an advertisement for "Fresh CFD Taboo" on a classifieds website on July 22.

The ad read, "In town with my dau - she is very eager. She wants to experience what Cheyenne has to offer. Who wants to have some "fresh" fun."

Unbeknownst to Martinez, the ad was part of an undercover operation and he was actually communicating with special agents, not a parent and their 12-year-old daughter.

Agents say Martinez "indicated that he wanted to meet for sexual intercourse with the 12-year-old" and asked "if she wanted to lose her virginity." A meeting location was agreed upon and agents arrested Martinez when he showed up there.

Martinez is currently in federal custody and could face 10 years to life in prison if convicted. His preliminary/detention hearing is scheduled for August 3 at 1:30 p.m.
