Cheyenne Kids Can Now Sell Lemonade Without a Permit
Cheyenne kids looking to make an extra buck with their lemonade stands no longer have to jump through legal hoops to do so.
The City Council on Monday night unanimously approved an ordinance exempting minors running beverage stands selling lemonade, iced tea or similar drinks on property owned, leased or rented by their parents or legal guardians from the city's permitting process.
"I've been hearing that we're doing this because (Mayor Orr's) administration and the police are out busting kids," said Councilman Rocky Case, who sponsored the ordinance. "I want to make that very clear, that is not happening."
The ordinance goes into effect immediately.
