The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities [BOPU] says a hydrant flushing project in the city is set to continue on Monday, April 29.

The next stage of hydrant flushing is scheduled for the area between E. Pershing Blvd and W. Lincolnway and between Snyder and Converse Avenues.

Crews will begin the flushing work early in the morning. The project is expected to wrap up by Friday, May 3.

Because of the hydrant flushing work, local water users may find their water is discolored. The BOPU offers the following advice for dealing with discolored water.

  • Wait until the nearby hydrant flushing is complete
  • Let the COLD water faucet or outside spigot run until the water clears or flush the toilet multiple time
  • Clean out faucet aerators or filters
