Update: 9109 Served At Cheyenne Frontier Days Breakfast

Update: Sam Weinstein of the Kiwanis Club, who is in charge of this year's pancake breakfasts, says the final county shows 9109 people were served breakfast on Wednesday morning.

Original Post: The exact numbers were not immediately available, but the ''Cheyenne Day" Cheyenne Frontier Days Pancake Breakfast on Wednesday appeared to draw a large crowd.

Pancake Breakfast Director Sam Weinstein of the Cheyenne Kiwanis Club told Townsquare Media of Cheyenne that 2,000 breakfasts had been served in the first half an hour. That's considered a fairly brisk pace for an event that often does not draw it's largest crowds until later.

But despite a large number of people who were lined up for the free pancakes and ham, lines appeared to be moving fairly quickly around 8 a.m. The CFD Pancake Breakfast is presented by the Kiwanis Club as well as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

In addition to being a long-time CFD tradition, it also serves as an emergency drill for feeding large numbers of people in Cheyenne in case of a disaster.
