Do you remember spending summer's at the drive-in movies?

The City of Cheyenne along with Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power are bringing back some of that experience with their 'Movies in the Park' series starting Tuesday, June 16, with 'The Box Trolls.'

The free 'Movies in the Park' will be shown on an inflatable screen on Dunbar Field at the softball fields next to Sloans Lake in Lions Park. Films begin at sundown, around 8:50 p.m. on June 16, and participants are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets and rain gear in case of changing weather conditions.

'The Box Trolls' came out last fall and features the voices of Ben Kingsley, Elle Fanning and Toni Collette. The film is based on the children's novel 'Here Be Monsters' by Alan Snow. The stop-action animated movie was directed by Anthony Stacchi and Graham Annable.

Free popcorn is sponsored by Kia of Cheyenne and food and beverages are also available for purchase from Jackson's at the softball fields. Throughout the summer, free movies will be shown each month; 'Top Gun' in July and 'Big Hero 6' in August.

Relive those days of watching a movie under the stars, feeling the night breeze while you snuggle with your sweetie at the City of Cheyenne's 'Free Movies in the Park.'
