Cheyenne East remained unbeaten in Wyoming Class 4A football action with a 39-7 win over previously unbeaten Thunder Basin High School on Friday night.

The clash at Okie Blanchard Stadium in Cheyenne featured the number three (East) and 4 (Thunder Basin) ranked teams in 4A going into this weekend's action. It also marked the first-ever football defeat for the Thunderbolts, who represent a brand-new high school in Campbell County which has never fielded a football team prior to this season.

Ethan Ashworth ran for 154 yards for the Thunderbirds while Noah James had a pair of interceptions for the T-Bird defense. The T-Birds ran their season record to 3-0 with the win.

Cheyenne Central, meanwhile, lost a squeaker at Rock Springs by a 28-27 score. Adarius Gallon scored a pair of touchdowns for Central, including an 81 yard run in the second quarter as the Indians fell just short of a road win.

And Cheyenne South was unable to notch a home victory against Casper Kelly Walsh as the Bison fell to the Trojans by a 41-6 score. Kelly Walsh scored 28 points off of turnovers. Bison quarterback Eric Fowler put his team on the board with a 1-yard touchdown run.

The Bison will host Cheyenne East at 6 p.m. Friday in an intra-city battle, while Central will host Campbell County.
