Morrow Said Before The Event That The Local Need Is Staggering
Prior to this year's event, Morrow said that when you look at what things cost "I don't know how people afford rent these days. And with inflation, you know, the inflation we had on food? That tipped a lot of people over into poverty."
Morrow goes on to say the number of people struggling just to feed themselves in Cheyenne is "Staggering.... The last statistic I heard from Needs, and it's probably out of date, is 600 boxes of food a week go out."
Morrow wrote in a news release "We thank all those who boosted our efforts this year! Day of Giving is essentially a collaboration of all parts of the community, each educating the public about the needs in our area and illustrating our motto, the Helen Keller quote, “Together we can do so much.”
This year was the 20th annual Cheyenne Day Of Giving. Planning is already underway for the 21st Day Of Giving, scheduled for May 8, 2026.
