The Cheyenne City Council will consider a resolution to pay back the Bloomberg Philanthropies $56,571.68 on Monday.

The city was awarded $100,000 through the Bloomberg ''Mayor's Challenge" program in 2018.

The resolution would pay back a little over $33,000 that was never used, as well as over$23,000 in expenditures that in the words of the resolution ''were initially charged against the grant funds in the city's accounting system and those charges have now been reclassified to the mayor's discretionary account.''

Of the $23,000, the resolution says ''the mayor and the city council are in the process of reconciling the $23,403.94 in reclassified charges."

Council President Rocky Case says the resolution will be introduced under ''special rules in the finance committee."
