Cheyenne City Council Tables Pothole Repair Contract Proposal
The Cheyenne City Council on Monday night voted to table a proposed $250,000 contract to repair potholes in the city.
The contract, which would be with Simon Contractors, was tabled on a 6-3 vote. Councilmen Pete Layborn and Ken Esquibel along with Mayor Marian Orr voted against tabling the measure, while councilman Bryan Cook was absent.
Council President Rocky Case moved to table the contract because of questions about the contract and the process for awarding it. The mayor had originally wanted to bypass the council and allocate the $250,000 via the emergency procurement process.
But that can only be done with expenditures up to $35,000 according to city rules. You can view the entire city council meeting in the video above.
