The Cheyenne Children's Museum has named Haylee Chenchar its Executive Director, effective April 1 [Monday].

Chenchar comes to the museum with experience in economics and community development with Visit Cheyenne and the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority.

A release from the museum quotes CCM Board President Caroline Veit as saying “We are thrilled with the caliber of skills and experience Haylee Chenchar brings to the Children’s Museum,” said Veit “The board is certain that her energy, positive outlook and passion for children and community will make her the perfect leader and set the Children’s Museum on a path to success.”

Museum Hoping To Open In A Few Months

Veit told Townsquare Media on Wednesday that the organization is looking at a late summer opening for the museum. She says an exact date has not yet been named.

Again quoting from the release "It’s an honor to be chosen for such an exciting role in our community,” said Haylee Chenchar. “The Children’s Museum is a project that has been years in the making and would not have been possible without the dedication of the CCM Board and support from our community. I look forward to continuing the work that has already taken place to ensure the success of such an incredible asset for the future of Cheyenne."

The Cheyenne Children's Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization ''with an exciting mission to become a one-of-a-kind place in downtown Cheyenne that inspires the love of learning for kids and families through creative, hands-on experiences and play.''

The release invites people to drive by the corner of 17th and O'Neill to check out the museum's progress.
