A 37-year-old Cheyenne woman with a lengthy criminal history is facing a felony charge after reportedly, once again, getting caught with drugs.

According to a booking sheet, police arrested Chairrity Nicole Meehan at the Probation and Parole Office at 1934 Wyott Dr. at 12:26 p.m. on Friday, July 18.

Meehan was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance - third or subsequent offense, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, up to a $5,000 fine, or both.

Initial Court Appearance

On Tuesday, July 22, Meehan was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Thomas Lee on the charge.

Lee appointed Meehan a public defender and asked if the state strenuously objected to a $1,000 cash bond.

"The state would request a higher cash-only bond given that if convicted this will be not only her third, but Ms. Meehan's fourth conviction of a similar offense," the state said.

"She also has numerous failure to appears from 2016, 2018, 2021, 2023, 2024, as well as a probation violation from 2022 and a contempt of court from 2023," the state added. "All of that gives that state very serious concerns for her ability to comply with this court's orders (and) would request a $3,000 cash bond."

Bond Set at $1,500 Cash

Lee set Meehan's bond at $1,500 cash and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Wednesday, July 30, at 1:30 p.m.

Please remember that all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
