Original Story:
One man is in custody and no injuries were reported after police say he walked into Wyoming Medical Center early Monday morning with a handgun and started shooting at hospital staff.
Sgt. Zack Winter of the Casper Police Department says the shooting occurred around 1 a.m. when the suspect walked into the radiology department. The incident remains under investigation, Winter told K2 Radio News in a phone interview on Monday, and the suspect's name is currently being withheld.
After the shooting began, officers responded to the hospital, located the suspect and took him into custody. The suspect is currently in the Natrona County Detention Center, Winter added.
He emphasized that no continuing threat to the public exists in connection with the incident.
The police department plans to hold a news conference later this morning, Winter said.
