UPDATE: The Wyoming Highway Patrol has issued the following statement:

26th Street from Carey Ave to Central Ave is still closed. All other streets have been opened once more.
This is an active investigation and we are asking everyone to continue to avoid the Capitol complex.

UPDATE 12:07 P.M- The Patrol posted the following update on it's Facebook page:

As a precaution to keep everyone safe in the area, 21st St to 27th St have all ve closed between Carey Ave and Central Ave.
We are responding to a report of a suspect IED at the Capitol Building. The building was evacuated quickly and safely as a precaution. A multi-agency, precautionary response is underway involving the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Laramie County Sheriff's Office, Wyoming DCI, Cheyenne Police Department , and the Joint EOD Team, as well as federal agencies.
There is no timeline for a return to the Capitol. At this time please avoid the area.

UPDATE 11:55: Wyoming Highway Patrol spokesman Aaron Brown told Townsquare Media Cheyenne that the building was evacuated because of a suspected Improvised Explosive Device.

Brown said he could not immediately confirm whether an actual device was found or whether the evacuation was the result of a threat made to authorities or for some other reason.

A Cheyenne Police Department Bomb Squad trailer was seen at the building, and Brown says the Patrol, Cheyenne Police Department and Laramie County Sheriff's Office are cooperating in dealing with the situation.

Original Article: The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the Wyoming Capitol Building has been evacuated because of what it calls "an incident."

The patrol posted the following on it's Facebook page:  "We are investigating an ongoing incident at the State Capitol Building in Cheyenne. The building has been evacuated. Please avoid the area."
