Due to agency closures, continued snow, and unexpectedly increasing winds, Laramie County School District 1 is releasing students early today.

LCSD1 spokeswoman Mary Quast says buses will begin arriving at the high schools and junior high schools at 11:45 a.m. and the elementary schools at 1 p.m.

"Parents can pick up students as available," said Quast. "Staff will be present at your school until all students are picked up."

Quast says lunch will be served as usual.

"We fully recognize that the weather has created challenging conditions and appreciate all of you that have called in," said Quast.

"As we know Wyoming weather is incredibly unpredictable," Quast added. "Thank you for your grace."

All after-school activities previously scheduled for today have been canceled as well.
