Bomb Scare in Fort Collins on Thursday, May 6
It's always better to go with 'safety first' when it comes to a 'sketchy' backpack.
Fort Collins Police Services evacuated an area of south Fort Collins on Thursday, May 6, 2021, as workers that were cleaning a storage unit near Boardwalk and Oakbridge discovered a backpack just after 11 a.m.
The backpack had chemicals that they couldn't identify, so they called the police. Fort Collins Police Service called in the services of the Northern Colorado Bomb Squad and evacuated the area from Oakbridge south to Meadow Run and from Boardwalk east to the Mail Creek Ditch.

After about four hours the evacuation was lifted as Fort Collins Police Services notified the public that the bomb squad had taken the chemicals for further processing.
